Herrin PD Arrests For July

CAMERON C. DANIEL                 AGE 22
FROM:  HERRIN, IL
ARRESTED ON 07-02-14 FOR DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (COCAINE).  DANIEL WAS ARRESTED ON A WARRANT WITH A $200,000 BOND (10% CASH).  DANIEL WAS UNABLE TO POST BOND AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY JAIL.

ARRESTED ON 07-02-14 FOR RETAIL THEFT UNDER $150.  OAKLEY WAS RELEASED ON AN I-BOND.

FROM:  JOHNSTON CITY, IL
ARRESTED ON 07-05-14 FOR DOMESTIC BATTERY.  NO PRESET BOND ON THE CHARGE.  SANDUSKY WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY JAIL PENDING A COURT APPEARANCE BEFORE A JUDGE.

ARRESTED ON 06-20-14 FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED AND POSSESSION OF CANNABIS LESS THAN 2.5 GRAMS.  SLOAN POSTED $150 CASH BOND AND WAS RELEASED FROM CUSTODY.

FROM:  HERRIN, IL
ARRESTED ON 06-26-14 FOR DOMESTIC BATTERY.  NO PRESET BOND ON THE CHARGE.  PHILLIPS WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY JAIL PENDING A COURT APPEARANCE BEFORE A JUDGE.

FROM:  CARTERVILLE, IL
ARRESTED ON 06-21-14 FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL.  ORR WAS RELEASED ON A NOTICE TO APPEAR IN COURT.

KENDRA R. L. BETHEL                   AGE 18
FROM:  MARION, IL
ARRESTED ON 06-19-14 FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED.  BETHEL WAS RELEASED ON AN I-BOND.
CODY J. TOMS                    AGE 23
FROM:  HERRIN, IL
ARRESTED ON 06-18-14 FOR BATTERY.  TOMS POSTED $150 CASH BOND AND WAS RELEASED FROM CUSTODY.

Residential Burglary Press Release

On Monday 09-30-13 at approximately 12:28 p.m. the Herrin Police Department was dispatched to the 1500 block of North 14th Street in Herrin, IL in reference to a burglary that had just occurred and a witness was following the suspects.

Herrin Police arrived and spoke to the witness.  The witness was able to identify the residence in which the suspects entered.  With assistance from the witness, Herrin Police identified two suspects.

After further investigation, Herrin Police arrested Joshua C. Helton, age 20, from Herrin, IL and Nathan A. Knapp, age 26, from Springfield, IL.  Both men were charged with Residential Burglary and taken to the Williamson County Jail pending a court appearance before a Judge. 

Burger Nook Burglary Suspect

The Herrin Police Department has identified Joshua Hileman, age 24, as being a potential suspect in the burglaries that occurred early Saturday morning, 3/31/12, at Burger Nook Cafe, Pizza Mike’s, and First Choice DUI Services. 

HPD needs assistance in locating Hileman.  Anyone with any information on Hileman’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Herrin Police Department at 942-4132 or via email at HerrinPoliceDepartment@gmail.com.

San Carlo Cemetary Vandalism

Over the past several months, the Herrin Police Department has taken numerous reports, of vandalism, at the San Carlo Cemetary.  These reports range from spray painting the buildings, damaging grave sites, and knocking over headstones.

Burglary From Motor Vehicles

The Herrin Police Department has recently been taking multiple Burglary From Motor Vehicle reports throughout the city.  In many of the cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.  In others, windows were broken out to gain entry.

HPD would like to remind it’s citizens to make sure your vehicles are locked at all times and any valuables are removed from the interior.  

Armed Robbery at Jumpin’ Jimmies

On Friday, 1/21/12, around 8:00 p.m., the Herrin Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Jumpin’ Jimmies convenience store in Herrin.

The unidentified man displayed a firearm, and demanded money from the clerk.  An undetermined amount of cash was taken.  The suspect fled on foot and is still at large.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
